a people's bailout: anticipating rent burden from the projected employment impacts of covid-19

spring. 2020

This group project was created for a statistical modeling course in the spring of 2020. In light of the COVID-19 crisis, local governments face unprecedented challenges in keeping their residents safe while coping with the economic fallout from the pandemic. Working with Philadelphia data, this project examines the relationship between rent-burdened populations and job sectors vulnerable to the COVID-19 outbreak to predict the number of Philadelphians who will find themselves in precarious economic situations due to the crisis.

Below is a presentation of the findings.
